|Welcome to the home page for the center;
A multidisciplinary group committed to
restoring dynamic function.
The following pages are meant to help anyone with problems of the lower extremity. These ideas are a mix from medicine, orthopedic surgery and physical therapy.
The pages are organized to provide a start with anatomy and an overview of common problems. Also, we try to provide a good start for self diagnosis and treatment.

The center was created to capitalize on the different strengths of health care professionals - each with unique training.
" the knee bone's connected to the..."
The lower limb is a functional unit.
Still, most problems of the knee, foot or ankle are treated in a vacuum.
Most bunions are caused by arch problems. Yet, the arch is rarely treated. Why? The focus is on the painful toe - not on the bigger picture.
Why does meniscus tear? Perhaps trauma, or perhaps subtle alignment problems in the foot, limb or knee.
"Hammers tend to find nails"
Therapists tend to see the need for therapy.
Doctors tend to treat disease, and surgeons tend to do surgery.
So how can we do better?
Integration of ideas and services.
We try to use the
best ideas from each discipline to create a treatment which is customized
for each patient or problem.
